A little bling in the spring makes everything sparkle better! Swarovski Crystal Beads not only add sparkle to jewelry designs, but below are a few more ways to bedazzle projects and take them to the next level!!
Add some bling to clothing
When I was young metal studs were the in thing to add to jeans, handbags and other clothing. I loved decorating with those, but using crystal would have been so much cooler!!
I love to read thanks to my parents and their example, do you love to read a good book? I wonder how many still like the feel of a book in their hands and not some electronic device?
Do you read for fun?
My Mom and Dad were always reading for fun and through books I was able to expand my imagination and sometimes escape to magical lands.
We had a large bookcase with many books, including an old Encyclopedia Set – remember those? I did many a school report using those Encyclopedias!
Now you can read books online, purchase ebooks and download them to whatever media device you like, but for me there is just nothing like holding a physical book and turning each page. I can see how much of the book I have read, and how much of the story is left by viewing where the bookmark is located.
Some of my favorites
There are so many great books, and over the years I have gone through many different authors and subjects like:
Stephen King Books
Science Fictions Books
Great Love Stories
Bookmark your place
I started making beaded bookmarks a few years ago, using art beads and charms that were left over after a project.
These bookmarks or book thongs add a little personality and decoration to books and also mark your place.
Bookmarks also can be a great small gift idea for readers at just about anytime of the year. My Mom loved them and became my best customer! In todays electronic age they are a unique gift and perfect for:
Gifts for children
Friends at work or church
A small thank you to someone who has helped you out
Stocking Stuffer ideas
and many more…..
Do you still read books?
I would love to know how many people still love to read books. What are your favorite types of books to read and how do you keep your place? Leave a comment and let me know!
Cell phone charms used to be all the rage! That was a short-lived trend because newer cell phones have no place to hook them. Meanwhile crafters and bead suppliers have jillions of them left over.
Likewise, when I was trying to sell my wares at local craft shows years ago, I created some cell phone charms with an assortment of really nice sterling silver bead designs and Swarovski crystal.
Guess what? I still have some of them! They are nearly impossible to sell since no one is interested in them any longer.
So what do you do with them now?
Great idea for cell phone charms
I love incense and have several types of incense burners in my home, including bottle incense holders.
They come with a large split ring and golden cord that hangs on the side. You put the incense stick into the split ring and then insert the stick in the bottle so that the smoke comes out of the top and the ventilation holes on the side.
Over the years the silver split ring had become blackened from the smoke and the little golden cord had become frayed. So I took one of those unwanted cell phone charms and attached it to a new split ring. See how nice it looks?!!
Phone charms are a great way to add a little beaded decor to just about anywhere. Check my Etsy shop to see which ones I have left 🙂

Years ago I was at an Intergalactic Bead Show and came upon a vendor selling Pyramid stones and crystals. I was smitten!
I have always been fascinated with the Pyramids of Egypt and there was just something “necessary” about having one made of stone.
I bought a small Lapis Lazuli pyramid (featured above) which sits on my desk, and I recently discovered I could collect more of these Pyramid stones at Healing Crystals.
Below are the choices at the top of my list! Click the picture to learn more about each stone.
Golden Tiger Eye Pyramid – for its ability to attract spiritual energy yet still keep you grounded. This polished stone is just gorgeous, I have never been a huge fan of Tiger Eye, but I think I have changed my mind!
Amethyst Pyramid – Purple is one of my favorite colors and the amethyst is a soothing, powerful and protective stone. It is also the stone used for the February birthstone.
Clear Quartz Crystal Pyramid – to help energize and amplify my creativity.
