I started the new year with a bang by displaying jewelry at one of the celebrity events in Los Angeles! Several of my handcrafted jewelry items were showcased, in association with The Artisan Group®, in a by-invitation-only luxury celebrity gift lounge hosted by GBK, honoring the nominees and presenters of the 2018 Golden Globes.
I have been a member of The Artisan Group for several years and have participated in many events, but never as a part of the display team.
This was a great experience! I highly suggest pushing yourself to try something you’ve never done. Not only is it exhilarating, but it teaches you new things about yourself and your business.
My top 4 benefits from displaying jewelry at celebrity events
Today it seems like EVERYONE has decided to go into business for themselves. The gig economy is trending and it’s easy to start your own website or sell on many social platforms, etc. How do you compete with all that? Somehow you have to stand out from the crowd.
Displaying at a celebrity event gives you a way to stand out. Below are what I feel were the top 4 benefits from participating in this event:
Great PR for a small business! I live in Central Florida and no one cares, but this consequently gives my small business credibility. View my Press Release here
Awesome photos of a two celebrities wearing my jewelry. I couldn’t have gotten any better “model shots”!
A new cool display for my jewelry should I ever decide to go back to setting up at local craft or art fairs.
Most of all this was a great morale boost because I did have to apply and be accepted onto the display team 🙂
Will I do this again?
Absolutely!! Not only did I display my handmade products, but I also gifted attending celebrities a sample of my jewelry.
The result of this puts one of my products, and also one of my business cards, into the hands of people I would never see at a craft fair or art show here in Central Florida!
I am excited to share this collection of items in The Artisan Group® swag bag that will be given to attending celebrities at GBK’s Celebrity Gift Lounge honoring the MTV Movie Awards Nominees and Presenters.
Celebrities and members of the press will receive these popular gift bags which always contain finely handcrafted products from participating members.
This years invitation-only luxury celebrity gift lounge, hosted by GBK Productions, will be held on April 8-9, 2016.
Spotted on the wrist of Scarlett Byrne on the Vampire Diaries season 7 premiere was the Celtic Dragon bracelet by Bead Lovers Korner! I was really excited to see that it was chosen to be worn on the show!
The Celtic Dragon bracelet was gifted in consideration for use to the wardrobe stylist team of the CW Network series in a collaborative gift bag from The Artisan Group®.
Bracelet worn by Scarlett Byrne in the first few scenes
Scarlett Bryne as the character “Nora” wears the Celtic Dragon bracelet in the first few scenes of the long-awaited “The Vampire Diaries” season 7 premiere. The TVD episode title “Day One of Twenty-two Thousand, Give or Take” aired on October 8, 2015.
Nora is seen in this tweeted photo below wearing the bracelet, made with red sesame jasper, which complemented the floral theme in her blouse.
Vampire Diaries jewelry earrings and necklace that were spotted on the hit TV show. As seen on TV, these jewelry items were gifted in consideration for use to the costume stylist of the CW Network series in a collaborative gift bag from The Artisan Group®.
This eye-catching Blue Frost Crystal Pendant necklace is an Alyce n Maille Original Design. This jewelry design was worn by the character Elena Gilbert (actress Nina Dobrev) in the season 6 finale. Made with Stainless Steel and Swarovski Crystal.
The wardrobe stylist of top rated TV shows received our jewelry this year which is exciting for the many possibilities.
These great opportunities were made possible through collaborative gift bags presented in association with The Artisan Group®.
Wardrobe stylist gifts
This Celtic dragon bracelet was gifted to the wardrobe stylist of “The Vampire Diaries” for consideration of use on future episodes.
This cool bracelet is “unisexy” and could be worn by any male or female members of the cast.
A delicately wire-wrapped necklace of Swarovski crystal beads and sterling silver was included in the gift bag from The Artisan Group that was sent to the stylists of “Girlfriends Guide to Divorce”.
Last but not least, this lovely Swarovski cream pearl necklace was hand-linked and given as a classic style necklace to the celebrity wardrobe stylist of “11/22/63”. This is a TV-mini-series based on the book written by Stephen King.
Stephen King is one of my all time favorite authors and I have read many of his books over the years, so naturally this was an exciting opportunity for me.
Crossing my fingers that any of these three jewelry pieces might catch the eye of a celebrity fashion stylist in wardrobe and costuming and be considered for use on the shows!
Stephanie Drapeau has performed in over 20 films including Cabin Fever 2: Spring Fever, Cross, Closure, and on television The Catch and Castle. Stephanie also appears on Medium and has worked with legendary actors such as Morgan Freeman in Wish Wizard.
I am thrilled to share this awesome thank you tweet from Stephanie Drapeau and hope that she will enjoy wearing these lovely earrings and all of the beautiful handcrafted gifts from members of the group.
Celebrity style is the distinctive appearance (choice of clothing, jewelry and accessories) of a celebrity which is then put under the spotlight by photography of events, interviews or performance.
Isn’t is fun to see a necklace, earrings or t-shirt worn by a celebrity that you might also have in your closet wardrobe or jewelry box? Kind of gives you a feeling of connection to your favorite stars!
