Tiger bead charms for bracelets

This Sterling Silver Tiger Bead from Carlo Biagi (UPDATE: This bead is sold out and no longer available making it officially extinct!) is the perfect charm for bracelets themed around a sports team, spiritual energies or for animal lovers. The large diameter hole has no threading and it is compatible with many popular bracelets.

Over the years this European charm has been very popular due to its symbolism of this ferocious animal.

Tiger beads and symbolism

The tiger has always been an important symbol, and throughout history you see it’s influence in art, literature, or as a mascot.

Here are just a few interesting facts:

  • The tiger is the largest cat! For those of us who love cats, it is a dream to own such a huge kitty.
  • It is one of the animals in the Chinese Zodiac, the next year of the Tiger is 2022.
  • The Detroit Tigers football team was named after the nickname of the Detroit Light Guard Military Unit
  • There are 9 different sub species: three are extinct and the remaining six are endangered

This popular sterling silver bead is also on my bead “endangered list”. There are only a handful of these beads available and they will not be restocked. (UPDATE: This bead is sold out and no longer available making it officially extinct!)

If you are waiting for just the right time to buy this bead, then NOW would be the time. (When they are all gone, and officially extinct, I will update this page.)

To answer the most asked question – yes they will fit on PANDORA bracelets and are also compatible with Troll, Chamilia, and other trendy charm bead bracelets.

The bead hole is 5mm and is smooth (no threading) making them easy to slip on an off any bracelet chain.

Are Landmark beads Pandora compatible charms?

The large smooth bead hole, which measures approximately 5mm,  has no threading and this makes them compatible with all popular bead bracelets and the beads will slip on and off easily.

Why doesn’t it say they are Pandora compatible charms in the listing?

Technically I am not supposed to mention the name Pandora in any product listing for sale that is not an actual Pandora brand.

Years ago the Pandora Nazis were all over the internet forcing companies to take listings down and even taking them to court for trademark infringement.

This activity might have loosened up in recent years, I am not really sure. I had my own bad experience with the Pandora Police and being a really small business I can’t risk a lawsuit.

So I am writing about it here for those who might Google the question looking for answers.

Landmark Beads should only be cleaned with a silver cleaning cloth. Do not use silver polish dip, as this may remove the oxidation that shows the tiny details in the silver.

When you are not wearing your bracelet, keep it stored in a safe place in either a plastic Ziploc bag or special jewelry storage, this will help keep it from tarnishing quickly.

As with all fine jewelry, do not wear while swimming, cleaning, bathing, etc. Some chemicals can ruin good jewelry. Also be careful not to wear during highly physical activities, such as sports, this can cause scratching, denting or loss.

With proper care, Landmark beads will be a lasting memory of your travels around the world!

Where were you on September 11 2001?

September 11 2001 is a day that changed everything, not just in the United States of America but in the entire world. The Twin Towers attack on 9-11-2001, followed by the Pentagon and United 93 is something we must NEVER FORGET!

Where were you on September 11 2001?

I was working at Creative Catalog Concepts, a publishing company in Orange City, Florida. I was on the phone with Bobby Susser from New Hope Records, discussing a custom job we were doing for him.

As I sat there on the phone, one of our Graphic Artists went into our “Break Area” and turned on the TV. I could see this from my desk and thought it was unusual since it was so early in the day.

Then several other employees gathered and sounded alarmed so I asked Bobby to hold while I went to see what happened. The first plane, American Airlines Flight 11, had crashed into the North Tower.

I got back on the phone with Bobby and told him what had happened and we ended the call. Then I stood there with the others and we watched in horror as the second plane, United Airlines Flight 175, crashed into the South Tower on live TV. Stunned and shocked we could not believe our eyes, panic was setting in as we knew that this was not an accident.

Shortly after that I called my husband, who works for an airline, and that was when he told me of the unprecedented grounding of all flights in the United States of America!

Then we heard about the other two flights – American Airlines Flight 77 and United 93. The knowledge that this was an attack on the USA was prevalent in our minds and we all could not believe this was happening!!

The rest of the day was spent not doing a whole lot of anything except crying, watching the news and wondering what was next. No one wanted to work, the whole day was surreal and the skies were eerily silent.

Always remember 9/11

I will never forget what happened on September 11th. My heart still aches for those who perished, those who lost loved ones and the brave Americans who dealt with this in their personal lives.

Each story, each thought and memory of the 9/11 attacks will keep those who perished and those who suffered alive in our hearts and minds.

Please share your story and NEVER FORGET September 11 2001!

Autism and ADHD Awareness

I didn’t plan on writing about Autism and ADHD until I learned about World Autism Awareness Day and ADHD Awareness Month. The whole subject brings up years of memories and personal experience raising children with ADHD, a developmental disorder that people do not understand.

While I didn’t raise Autistic children, I know the hardship of fitting the pieces together to get through life with ADHD. Support groups and awareness days were non-existent at that time.

Autism and ADHD Awareness

Autism and ADHD or any sort of “developmental disorder” awareness is not just for parents but also for educators and other people in society.

Speaking from the viewpoint of the parent I can tell you that if you suspect your child is different, learn all you can about the disorder. Doctors have a lot of knowledge, but in many cases they don’t know anymore than you do. So educate yourself on everything.

The same goes for teachers. Regular education teachers are not as well equipped to deal with Autistic children or children with ADHD. Teachers are people just like anyone else and can become annoyed or judge a child without getting to the root of the problem.

The sobering fact is that most people don’t know a thing about any of these developmental disorders and are highly judgmental toward the child and the parents.

The next time you see a child throwing a fit in public, running around in circles or knocking things over, don’t judge the parent or the child, say a prayer for them instead because you don’t know what they might be going through.

Struggling through daily life

If you are struggling through daily life with a child who is Autistic, ADHD, etc. let me tell you that the road is rough. Sometimes it is hard to fit all the pieces together, but you will get through it.

Always remind yourself of these few things:

  1. God gave you this child because you are strong enough to handle it
  2. Take it one day at a time
  3. Stay in the present. Don’t look too far ahead or too far back, it is all overwhelming
  4. Try to find a support group or someone to confide in and bounce off your frustrations
  5. Take time for yourself whenever you can, you need renewal of energy
  6. Get out of the house. It is very easy to become secluded and home-bound because simply going to dinner or to the grocery store is a traumatic event. Try not to let that happen, and also realize that the child, even with his or her disorder, still needs to learn to behave in public.

To medicate or not to medicate

The most common and widely used solution is to medicate the child (which is kind of scary). For some cases this may be a life saver and for others it might cause even more problems.

Once again, you should educate yourself and not blindly follow physicians orders – because this is YOUR child. There are many natural remedies that might work in your situation. Each child is different, which means there are a myriad of different solutions.

Keeping in focus

Parents and educators (both the regular and the special education teacher) need to always keep in focus: to love and educate the child. I know it’s hard sometimes, but the reward at the end is truly immense!

The most rewarding day of my life was seeing my sons graduate from High School, absolutely no one knew how hard it was to get to that moment. But I did.
